NFL Shares Full Video Of Tom Petty’s Super Bowl XLII Halftime Performance [Watch]

first_imgIn recent years, Super Bowl halftime shows have gotten increasingly flashy. However, in 2008, the recently deceased rock icon Tom Petty challenged this, putting on a stellar show during Super Bowl XLII, which saw the New York Giants dramatically upset the New England Patriots at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. During his twelve-minute performance, Petty and The Heartbreakers ran through some of his greatest hits, laying out superb renditions of “American Girl,” “I Won’t Back Down,” “Free Fallin’”, and “Runnin’ Down a Dream” and letting the music speak for itself during his fairly stripped-down performance. This 1977 Interview Proves That Tom Petty Was Coolness Personified [Watch] You can watch Tom Petty and The Heartbreaker’s full Super Bowl XLII halftime show below, which the NFL published earlier in the week in remembrance of the late and great rock and roll hero.last_img

Credit union EMV best practice

first_imgThe cardholder should be at the top of the EMV food chainAlthough many financial institutions are engulfed in the back-office activity required to implement EVM chip cards, “the cardholder should be at the top of the EMV food chain,” reminded presenters in an Arroweye Solutions webinar, Best Practices to Navigate the EMV Transition.“A meager 7 percent of banks we surveyed said customer satisfaction was a top EMV implementation concern,” the company shared in a webinar follow-up report. “But issues both within and outside of the bank will impact customer satisfaction. Banks must be customer focused and use this critical opportunity to educate and establish trust with customers.“Despite the numerous players who work together to enable transactions and keep cardholder data secure, banks hold the primary responsibility in consumers’ minds, and must have a solid ongoing communications strategy in place to retain customers and build loyalty,” the payment cards solutions firm reminds.“Start now with pre-launch communications including every available channel, such as online, cardholder statements, direct mail, media, branches, ATMs and more. Maintain, don’t sideline, key marketing strategies. Use the EMV touch point to reconnect with customers by offering a more personalized cardholder experience or introducing new services. continue reading » 4SHARESShareShareSharePrintMailGooglePinterestDiggRedditStumbleuponDeliciousBufferTumblrlast_img read more

Updated: Conway Springs teacher will return to the classroom Monday

first_imgTom Leahy(Updated Sunday) Sumner Newscow report — Conway Springs teacher Tom Leahy, who was on leave for two weeks after showing a controversial anti-bullying film, will return to his teaching position Monday, district officials said.In a written statement, officials said he “will be allowed back in the classroom with some safeguards in place to make sure the students in the classroom are okay which is our number one concern.” Superintendent Clay Murphy would not provide details on the safeguards or elaborate on the written release. The one-page statement, sent to Conway Springs parents and media Friday, was issued on behalf of the district and Leahy, Murphy said, and would be “our final statements on this issue.”“We will have no further comment on the topic,” it says.Leahy confirmed by phone to the Wichita Eagle Friday that he did not plan to comment further.“The fact is that the vast majority of complaints were about the graphic suicide scene and some of the comments made after the film had ended,” the statement said.Leahy said he no longer plans to speak to Conway Springs school board members at their regular meeting Monday night. It was unclear Friday whether board members would address the topic.Thursday, Leahy reversed a previous decision that he would tender his resignation to the Conway Springs School Board (see story here).Leahy was asked to leave after he showed his eighth-grade history students “Love is all you need,” a short film that depicts a fictional town in which heterosexual children are bullied by homosexual classmates. The film was shown as a teaching tool about tolerance, Leahy said.Leahy said he showed the film after a history lesson took a disturbing turn. He directed students last month to create their own colonies, like early American settlers, and several students declared that homosexuals would not be allowed in their colonies, Leahy said. Other students created colonies where everyone was welcome, which led to heated debates and hard feelings. He and Superintendent Clay Murphy were scheduled to address the community at a joint news conference on Thursday, but the event was canceled shortly after noon at Leahy’s request, Murphy said.Follow us on Twitter. Schools are not the place for social issues such as homosexuality. I think every school should focus more on “reading, writing and arithmetic.” Report Reply 0 replies · active 248 weeks ago Post a new comment Enter text right here!
