Series A breaks: six teams end the season

first_imgDespite the letter signed by UEFA, ECA and European Leagues inviting national championships not to imitate the example of Belgium, dropping a possible exclusion from European competitions for countries where it is decided to end the season, Series A still does not agree with the issue. There are at least six teams that clearly stated the intention of not recovering the postponed matches. Are Torino, Udinese, Sampdoria, Genoa, Spal and Brescia; Juventus, Lazio, Rome, Naples, Verona, Parma, Sassuolo and Lecce push to resume the competitions; Inter, Atalanta, Milan, Bologna, Cagliari and Fiorentina, on the other hand, were not positioned and are waiting. The entire ‘no’ front occupies the last seven places in the standings and, perhaps, could benefit from a blockade of the declines. Today the Calcio teams are gathered in an assembly that will analyze the possible plans for the calendars plus, will discuss a possible collective agreement with the footballers’ association to cut wages. All clubs obviously await instructions from health institutions to organize a return to the green, which would require at least three weeks of training. LBack to work in April seems extremely unlikely: At best, Series A would resume on the last weekend of May and at worst at the end of June.Clubs against this scenario fear risks for their footballers and, in addition, that the next course is also damaged with a too busy schedule that would end up being very hard for the teams with less economic strength and, therefore, shorter templates. The issue of salaries is also complicated: The Footballers Association would like to limit the cut to one month, March, while the clubs want to imitate Juve’s position and suspend payments during all inactivity. An attempt will be made to find a common framework, although each entity will then have to negotiate individually with its players, as Vecchia Signora has already done.last_img read more
