Also Monday, prosecutors filed court papers seeking sanctions against his defense team after a possible defense witness, Dr. Henry Lee, discussed the case on television. In their motion, prosecutors took umbrage with Lee’s April 25 appearance on Court TV, where he told interviewer Catherine Crier that Clarkson’s blood spatter traveled six feet. He also said Spector was six feet away from Clarkson when the shot was fired, according to their court papers. Deputy District Attorney Alan Jackson charged in court last week that Lee withheld photographs he took of the crime scene for four years before handing them over recently. Testimony will continue Wednesday with Stephanie Jennings, who was photographer known for shooting pictures of rock stars. LOS ANGELES – A judge delayed testimony Monday in the murder trial of famed music producer Phil Spector because one of Spector’s defense attorneys required medical attention. After mulling it over for a few hours, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Larry Paul Fidler told jurors that court would reconvene at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, though he did not say why attorney Bruce Cutler had to see a doctor. Cutler is well-known for defending Mafia boss John Gotti in the 1980s. Spector, 67, is accused in the slaying of actress Lana Clarkson, 40, who died of a gunshot wound to the head while sitting in the foyer of Spector’s Alhambra mansion on Feb. 3, 2003. Jennings claims that in January 1995 Spector brought a gun into a New York hotel room in which she was staying and held her at gunpoint. City New Service contributed to this story.
