East Patchogue Man Killed in SUV Crash

first_imgSign up for our COVID-19 newsletter to stay up-to-date on the latest coronavirus news throughout New York A 49-year-old East Patchogue man was killed when he crashed his SUV in Bayport over the weekend.Suffolk County police said Michael Schuierer was driving his Jeep eastbound on the Sunrise Highway Service Road when he lost control of the truck, which overturned and caught fire west of Nicolls Road at 12:15 p.m. Sunday.Two good Samaritans tried to pull the victim from the vehicle, but were overwhelmed by the flames before they could get Schuierer out, police said. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.Fifth Squad detectives impounded the Jeep, are continuing the investigation and ask anyone with information on this crash to call them at 631-854-8552.last_img
